Jaime Harrison: The True Big Pharma Sellout

The Senate Majority PAC is spending $6.5 million on a South Carolina ad campaign backing Jaime Harrison, with one ad attacking Senator Lindsey Graham for “taking millions from special interests like big drug companies.”

But the ad doesn’t mention that Jaime Harrison spent years as a lobbyist for Big Pharma as part of the Podesta Group, representing companies like Amgen, Sanofi, Novo Nordisk, Genzyme, Merck, and Amylin Pharmaceuticals.

The Washington Free Beacon detailed that Jaime Harrison had reported no assets, with credit card and loan debts valued between $140,000 and $365,000, before joining the Podesta Group in 2008. By the time he left the Podesta Group eight years later, he had gathered up to $3.45 million in assets.

Democrats are now spending millions of dollars to try to get a majority in the Senate, and they’re willing to say anything to tear down their Republican opponents, even if it’s complete hypocrisy over Big Pharma. Quite the opposite, President Trump, who Senator Lindsey Graham strongly supports, recently issued an executive order to help lower drug prices.

If Jaime Harrison spent several years lobbying for Big Pharma, how can South Carolina trust him to truly fight for the interests of the people?
