At the conclusion of Amy Coney Barrett’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings, Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein took a moment to praise Lindsey Graham for his leadership.

As chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Graham helped lead the hearings to confirm Judge Barrett. The Senate is now scheduled to vote on Barrett’s confirmation on Oct. 22.

“This has been one of the best set of hearings that I’ve participated in,” Feinstein said to Senator Graham. “I want to thank you for your fairness and the opportunity of going back and forth. It leaves one with a lot of hopes, a lot of questions, and even some ideas, perhaps some good bipartisan legislation we can put together to make this great country even better.

“Thank you so much for your leadership.”

Senator Graham responded by acknowledging their disagreements over the confirmation of Barrett, but he also added “To Senator Feinstein, you are a joy to work with.”

Feinstein and Graham then shared a hug after the hearings, a friendly and bipartisan moment which prompted immediate attacks from the left. Demand Justice, a liberal organization that is focused on reshaping the Supreme Court, already called for Feinstein to step down from the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Senator Graham has once again proven that he is willing to put partisan politics aside in favor of what is best for the American people. He continues to lead the confirmation process of a qualified and reputable judge to the Supreme Court, while respecting the different opinions of his colleagues.
