Following Turkey’s violent invasion of Syria, President Trump consulted Senator Lindsey Graham on sanctions moving forward to deter Turkey from further action in Syria. Presenting a strong, united front was an important goal for both the Trump administration and key members of the Senate, including Graham.
Among the economic sanctions imposed on Turkey are increased tariffs on Turkish exports, as well as the immediate cancellation of negotiations around a $100 billion trade deal.
